Feedback from the 2007 Inaugural Academy

Participants completed a pre- and post-test to gauge learning throughout the week. This evaluation was comprised of 50 questions contributed by faculty members in their areas of expertise.  This assessment documented the increased knowledge base and new skills of each and every student.  In 2007, scores for all students showed significant improvement from pre to post-test sessions.  In addition, participants were asked to complete evaluations of each session they attended and an assessment of their overall experiences for the week. The following are a few highlights:

100% of students agreed with the statement, “Attending the MVAA has given me a better understanding of the victim’s experience.”

96.9% agreed with the statement, “I feel more confident about my ability to work with crime victims because of what I learned at MVAA.”

100% agreed with the statement, “MVAA has given me a better understanding of the relationship of my individual work to the overall experience of the victim.”

75% stated that they had networked with at least 5 providers with whom they would collaborate in the future.

100% would recommend the MVAA to another victim service provider!
